News 14 | 24 Hour Local News | TOP STORIES | People protest for prayer at public meetings: "YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. – Several hundred people were in downtown Yadkinville Saturday morning.
“I want to be out and let everyone know that we are standing for what’s right – our religious freedom and the right to pray in Jesus’ name,” said Pastor Billy Seat of Southside Baptist Church.
It was all to show the county commissioners they want sectarian prayer.
“I am greatly encouraged that this many people would come out on this Saturday and send a signal to the Yadkin County Commissioners that we want you to represent those who sent you there and allow everybody in this county, when the opportunity presents itself, to pray in the name of the deity that they choose to pray in,” said Rev. Ron Baity of Return America."
